Vehicle Fitting Apprenticeships

THE AWARD

The Vehicle Fitting Apprenticeships are nationally recognised awards formed in consultation with the Tyre and Fast Fit industry and Automotive Skills Ltd,(The Government appointed body who sets training and assessment standards for the motor industry).
The awards reflect the acheivements of individuals through education and training.
The awards consists of three main elements:
  • Vehicle Fitting VRQ at levels 1, 2 and 3 (also known as a Technical certificate)
  • Vehicle Fitting  N/SVQ at levels 1, 2 & 3 (the assessment programme)
  • keys skills

The level 1 award is available for both light vehicle and heavy vehicle tyre fitters, and is especially suited as an entry level qualification for individuals within tyre companies that do not cover the full range of services normally found in Tyre & Fast Fit premises.

There are two main routes within the level 2 award to reflect the different skills within the Tyre and Fast Fit sector,

  • Vehicle Fitting General (covering the more mechanical aspects)
  • Vehicle Fitting  (Tyre Specialist)

There are mandatory units to reflect the essential skills of both routes and optional units to reflect individual and company requirements.

The level 3 award is aimed at persons working in depot management/supervisory roles.  Although not essential, it is recommended that candidates first complete the level 2 award.

For all levels, candidates are required to attend a number of "off the job" training courses and their skills will be assessed in their own place of work by one of our fully qualified assessors.
