MOT Testers Annual

Continual Professional Development

Have you planned your 2017/18 CPD? If not, we can help!
Since April 2016 all current and new MOT testers are required to record a minimum of 3 hours Continual Professional Development (CPD) annually, totalling a minimum of 16 hours over a rolling five year period. In addition you will also need to pass an online MOT annual assessment to remain a current MOT tester.
We have three options available to you ...
IMI e-leaning and assessment (£85 + VAT)
Our IMI online e-learning CPD packages for vehicle classes 1 & 2 and 3, 4, 5 & 7 testers  which covers everything you need to complete the compulsory three hours CPD and take the online assessment in the comfort of your own home or at work.
The e-learning package can be accessed as many times as you like, it does'nt need to be completed in one sitting.  The assessment is open book, so you can refer to the MOT Inspection Manual and Special Notices while doing the questions – just like you would if you needed to know something during an actual MOT test.
IMI Assessment only for classes 1 & 2 and 3, 4, 5 & 7 (£45 + VAT per class)
If you have planned to do the compulsory training yourself, we can offer the assessment only route.  We will send you your unique username and password to access the assessment, which can be taken at a time that suits you.  Please note that if you test all classes including classes 1 & 2, you will need to purchase both assessments and will need to prove that you have completed your compulsory 6 hours of CPD.
After passing your assessment simply print out your certificate and log it on your VTS device. Your certificate has a unique identifier that will be authenticated by DVSA and the IMI.
Annual CPD Training Workshop and Assessment (£110 + VAT)
Alternatively, we run regular CPD workshops for  vehicle classes 1 & 2 and 3, 4, 5 & 7 at our Nuneaton training centre.  These half day taught sessions will provide you with everything you need to complete your annual CPD in a relaxed atmosphere where you will be able to ask questions and discuss matters with other like minded people.
You will receive a certificate of CPD as proof to the DVSA that you have completed the compulsory annual training
At the end of the session, you will take your annual assessment, print your certificate and assistance will be available to help you upload your results to the VTS device.
We have ran several of these workshops during the 2016/17 period and they have proved to be a great success.
